Frequently asked questions (FAQ’s) 

Why an on-call mental health support package instead of just paying per session?

      • Uninterrupted Focus on You: The monthly retainer frees me to dedicate my energy to providing you with the highest quality support, not watching the clock. It’s about your progress, not billable hours.
      • Dedicated Support, No Matter What: Life throws curveballs. The retainer provides a buffer for those times when you need extra support, ensuring I can fully focus on your unique challenges without any time constraints.
      • Flexibility for Your Best Outcome: This approach allows for a more natural and adaptable therapeutic process, leading to more effective and lasting results. I’m deeply committed to providing comprehensive mental health support, and this structure allows me to do that best.

How much additional support is included?

      • Tailored Support for Your Needs: If your needs are particularly high in a given month, we’ll discuss it together and agree on any additional fees that are fair and reasonable for both of us. My priority is ensuring you get the support you need.
      • Transparent Communication: This typically applies when support exceeds approximately three hours per month outside of your regular fortnightly sessions. We’ll keep the lines of communication open and transparent about any additional costs.

What if I need extra sessions too?

      • Additional Sessions Available: Absolutely! Individual or couples’ sessions (60 minutes each) can be easily added as needed.
      • Simple, Transparent Billing: These additional sessions will be added to your monthly invoice, so everything is clear and easy to manage.

Can I set up automatic payments or direct debit?

    • Effortless Payment Options: Yes! Once you’ve decided to move forward with the monthly on-call support package, we’ll reach out to set up a convenient automatic payment arrangement that works best for you.

Cancellation Policy (Updated February 17th 2025):

(i) Invoice (and Zoom login details) for your fortnightly counselling sessions will be emailed to you prior to your scheduled day and time for the upcoming monthly period. This invoice is required to be paid by the 28th of each month, for the upcoming monthly period. 

(ii) If you don’t make payment within this timeframe, Dorfen reserves the right to cancel your allocated fortnightly counselling sessions accordingly. 

(iii) If you cancel your counselling session within this 24-hour period and have already made payment, unfortunately a refund is not provided for these purposes and you will forfeit that respective session as part of your monthly allocation. 

(iv) If you cancel your counselling session within this 24-hour period and are able to provide a valid medical certificate, a different suitable time will be offered for that session accordingly. 

(v) If Dorfen cancels your counselling session due to any reason that they are solely responsible for, we have an obligation to reschedule to a mutually convenient time in the future. 

(vi) Dorfen also reserves the right to change the day and time of your scheduled counselling session due to unforseen circumstances, with as much notice as possible to be provided to the client should this unfortunately occur. 

(vii) If you fail to attend your counselling session at the allotted time for whatever reason without providing any prior notice, your fees will be allocated for that session accordingly and you are ineligible for a refund or reschedule. 

(vi) If you wish to opt out of the on-call mental health support package, you can do so with one month’s notice in writing in the final month of your current agreement cycle. Please note that this operates on a quarterly cycle.
